Ypsilanti Lincoln 2018 DB/RB Derek Thomason has committed to Grand Valley State just 2 days after earning his first offer from the Lakers.

The Division II program is off to a fast start on their recruiting trail as they have 9 verbal commitments since their 2017 season ended.

Thomason had a breakout senior season for the Railsplitters as they won a District Championship for the first time in school history.

Thomason is being recruited a Nickel on defense as the 5'11" 205 lbs has borderline size between OLB and a DB.

Thomason rushed for over 1,100 yards as a senior with 19 touchdowns.
