After losing 3 straight games to tough opponents in; Saint Francis, Boyne City, and Elk Rapids - Grayling was expected to get back to their winning ways as they won the first 4 games of the year. Grayling's defense struggled vs. 1-7 Benzie Central, but the offense had a performance of the ages as the Vikings won the shootout, 58-46.

Grayling 2018 QB/DE Justin Nicholas (5'11" 230 lbs) holds an offer from Concordia-Ann Arbor and climbed up the record books last week.

Nicholas was 39/72 for 616 yards and threw for 8 touchdowns. The 616 yards are the 2nd most in MHSAA history as he surpassed former Cesar Chavez QB Omar Salih who is #1 with 674 yards and was also #2 previously with 615 yards.

The 72 passing attempts are the 2nd most in the MHSAA behind a former Grayling graduate, Jimmy Osga in 2008. 39 completions put him in a tie for 3rd most overall, as the record is 41 also held by Osga.

The 8 touchdowns thrown put him #2 overall in a game as Omar Salih had 9 in 2013.
