Recap of Coopersville 28-14 win over Holland
A scoreless first quarter set the pace for a defensive battle and an exciting finish. Riley Johnson, who had himself a night, scored first on a 4 yard TD run in the second quarter. After the Broncos stopped Holland on 4th down, 4 plays later, including a beautiful one handed 33 yard catch on the sideline by Cayden Schneider, Johnson found the end zone again on a 3 yard scamper to go up 14-0. Holland would find paydirt next with a 37 yard run by Eli Mares and Quarterback Isaac Cassel would run in the 2 point conversion as the score at the half would be 14-8. The two teams would trade scores in the 3rd, with a 9 yard touchdown toss from Johnson to Brendan Wright, and Holland would get an untouched 11 yard run Donavon Webb but fail on the 2 point conversion to put the score at 21-14 Coopersville. The Dutch would have a few more chances but the Broncos defense made key stops. Johnson would cap off the scoring after a long 6 minute clock killing drive with an 11 yard option keeper with 1:33 left. Roman Armock would seal the victory and Coopersville's playoff berth with an interception on Holland's first offensive pass of the ensuing drive with 1:20 left.
