Prospects Recap from Muskegon vs. Detroit King (Story)
This was one of the pre-season marque games and the game between #2 Muskegon and #3 Detroit King certainly lived up to the hype as the action was non-stop and the big plays were plentiful. The game figured to be decided by which team would have the ball last and for King they mishandled a snap in the final seconds that Muskegon recovered to seal their 24-21 victory.
Muskegon:
2019 OL Anthony Bradford had his hands full with a strong defensive front from King, but Muskegon never stopped riding the tail of the #1 ranked 2019 prospect in Michigan who is committed to LSU.
2020 DE/OLB Billie Roberts had his hands full with double teams the entire night, as the #3 ranked prospect in the Class of 2020 did all he could do and teamed up with Anthony Bradford as a TE to lead what was basically an unstoppable rushing attack all night. On King's final offensive play of the night, Dequan Finn fumbled the snap and Roberts was in the the backfield to fall on the loose ball.
2020 ATH Cameron Martinez our #29 prospect in the Class of 2020 led the Big Reds under center in their dangerous veer offense. Martinez scored the first and last touchdown for Muskegon and had a pitch to Jakobie Harris who dashed in for a touchdown. The 5'11 190 lbs Martinez is a true Athlete prospect that college staff's should be fighting over which side of the ball he plays on. The speed, physical traits, and athletic abilities of Martinez will continue to draw more interest, he holds 10 offers now.
2019 OLB/S Ali'Vonta Wallace is a 6'1 210 lbs prospect who we rank as the #85 prospect in the Class of 2019 and is a player that is constantly in the middle of everything on the Muskegon defense. Wallace was involved in a lot of tackles and is a very fast player who tracks the ball well. Wallace currently holds 4 offers.
2019 WR Demario Robinson is a 5'9 speedster/playmaker who was involved in a lot of key plays throughout the night. Robinson is a D2/NAIA prospect.
Detroit King:
2019 QB Dequan Finn who is the #39 ranked The D Zone prospect in the Class of 2019 and is committed to Central Michigan, had several great throws throughout the night. Finn threw for 1 touchdown and rushed for 2 touchdowns, on top of countless other big plays off runs with the pocket collapsing and had several other great throws that were dropped.
2019 MLB Rich Miller is the #37 ranked The D Zone prospect in the Class of 2019 and is committed to Buffalo, but is continuously showing how important he is to King's defense. The 6' 216 lbs Miller flies around and then hits like a wrecking ball. Miller had several tackles-for-loss, impressively breaking through Muskegon's offensive line.
2019 S Marvin Grant is the #17 ranked The D Zone prospect in the Class of 2019 and is committed to Purdue. Grant lined up as basically an OLB all night to counter Muskegon's rush heavy veer offense and it worked out well. Grant was constantly in on big tackles and didn't let much slip by.
2019 WR Dominick Hannah for the second straight week had a huge offensive performance as the speedster was just too much for Muskegon to handle through most of the game. Hannah caught the Crusaders first touchdown, a game-tying 2 point conversion, and many other key catches during the game. Hannah has played himself into a definite D2 recruit, in the past two weeks.
2019 DB/WR RayShawn Williams who is the #95 ranked The D Zone prospect in the Class of 2019 and is committed to Youngstown State has made another strong impression. Williams was basically the Crusaders only Safety and last line of defense with Grant moving down to LB. Williams was fantastic with his speed and popped loose a fumble in the 4th quarter that setup, King's go-ahead touchdown.
