Prospects Recap from Central Lake and Baldwin (Story)
Central Lake won the 8-Man state championship in 2017, on Saturday the Trojans won their first game of the season in convincing fashion over Baldwin to move to 1-2 after a week 3 bye. Central Lake held Baldwin to 3 yards of offense and recovered 4 turnovers. Central Lake's starters were taken out after the 1st quarter.
We'll break down their performances below:
Central Lake:
2019 RB/LB Grant Papineau scored 4 touchdowns for the Trojans in the first quarter which was 1 shy of tying an 8-Man record of 5 touchdowns in a quarter. Papineau is a nice prospect who should get some strong D2 looks with his size and how well he moves for his size. Papineau had 2 tackles and had 6 carries for 82 yards.
2019 ATH Skyler Spangler is one the most versatile skill players in 8-man football throughout Michigan. Spangler plays QB, RB, and DB for the Trojans. Spangler is a D3 recruit. On Saturday, Spangler rushed 7 times for 92 yards and had 1 interception.
Baldwin:
2021 DT/RB Ian Lemieux was Baldwin's top performer on Saturday. Lemieux who rushed for 48 yards, is a sophomore who might be someone to look out for in the future.
