Oak Park comes into Flint Beecher and stuns everyone. Put up a running clock & won 95-52

In what was arguably the biggest game in the state on this day, it turned out to perhaps be the most lopsided game of them all. Oak Park (12-2) rolled into this game as the expected underdog against Flint Beecher (11-5). Despite Beecher having a worse record, they have played one of the toughest schedules in the state regardless of class and have several big time players on their team.

Beecher boasts a dynamic 2020 duo in Jalen Terry and Ernie Sanders. Both hold D1 offers.

Oak Park has steadily went about their business since picking up 2 losses to start the year, and have not lost since. They are led by 2020 Maliq Carr, a dual sport star. They also boast a ton of talent around him with at least 7 different guys who are capable of leading Oak Park in scoring any night.

From the opening tip though, Flint Beecher was overwhelmed by Oak Park's length and unselfishness on the offensive end. Despite the score being 16-10 after 1 in Oak Park's favor, you could tell that Beecher was hanging on by a thread.

The wheels fell off in the 2nd quarter as the Knights of Oak Park opened the lead up to 45-22 at half. Maliq Carr was breaking Beecher's will with 4 dunks in the second quarter. Jeremiah Pettiway also was a huge reason behind the game being busted open, as he had 4 steals that led to baskets for Oak Park.

Beecher is a team that is known for making comebacks when all seems lost, so it was not a game completely out of reach if they would've come out in the 3rd and made a few baskets. But things continued to snowball for Beecher, and at the end of 3, Oak Park led 67-36.

Oak Park kept their feet on the gas though, and managed to extend the lead even with rotating players a little more in the final quarter to 43 points. Oak Park won in stunning fashion 95-52.

Maliq Carr led Oak Park with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 blocks. The dual sport star is looking more and more like he could be a serious potential D1 player in both sports who could begin stockpiling offers for both sports. Devonte Edwards had 14 points, Isaiah Hollins-Matson had a great game too, posting 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Jeremiah Pettiway had 11 points and 4 steals, Jalen Knight had 12 points on 4 3s, Sanna Sisawo had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals and Keyshawn Kyle had 12 for Oak Park.

Jalen Terry had 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Ernie Sanders had 12 points as well for Beecher.
